HISTORY OF THE PAISLEY CHRISTMAS MARKET (PCM)

Paisley’s Christmas Market started in 2012 on the same night as Paisley’s Late Night Social.

The first year, it was just one night.
The second year one weekend.
The third year a whole week.

And by year 4 it was 6 weeks long. We used the following spaces.
2012 – a little room, when 496 Queen South was divided into two spaces for one night
2013 – a little room, when 496 Queen South was divided into two spaces for one weekend
2014–  a little room, in 539 Queen South for one week.
2015– south side of 258 Queen North.
2016 – Dos Rios Cafe 342 Queen North for a month
2017 -The larger side of 258 Queen N for six weeks
2018 – Barbells fitness 312 Queen North. This is the first year we took debit cards and the market exploded
2019 –  Joanne’s Window Fashions 533 Queen South. This is the first year we stopped using tables. We started making upright displays and acquired the Paisley Christmas Market Logo and signs.
2020  – Covid Cody’s giant room at Queen N & Church
2021  – Covid Thompsons Furniture 543 Queen South
2022  – Orchards Landing at 486 Queen South for its permanent home. We got our inspected kitchen in time for the Christmas Market.
2023  – Introduced the Christmas Coin Sale: A kids sale on Tuesday nights. Fundraiser for the breakfast club
2025 – Last year for Lakehouse Pantry Pickles – 20 years in business. Thank-you to Wayne and Donna Duquette for so many years supporting Paisley. First year for Tomboi Artisan Ice Cream
